No good
March 15, 2008

Baby still not out,
Wife still feeling ill.
No Good.
(I’ll be back when there’s a baby to write about)

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow…
March 13, 2008

You’re running out of time little friend,
And I’m running out of mileage,
Doctors want this pregnancy to end,
And I’m running out of rhymeage.
Let’s see what the man has to say this afternoon,
Maybe he’ll get things moving,
Or maybe your mother will still be coughing at the moon,
If the chest infection’s precluding.
At least when you get here, I’ll [...]

Stay a while
March 12, 2008

Funny thing happened on the way to a labour,
Lady gets a cough and cold, do us a little favour?
I’m guessing you don’t fancy it in any other case,
But if you could hang just a bit, that would be great.
She’s not quite ready, not there yet, still a little gasping,
Just another twenty four, that’s all that [...]

Overdue Haiku

Than recognise it’s wet,
And sometimes light and shade a bit,
Perhaps the smell of vet.
If you come out now, you’ll see,
The light as the sun comes up,
It’s like turning up [...]

Still no baby…
March 8, 2008

I have a little cat,
He used to be quite sweet,
Now he’s really whiny,
for stinky bits of meat.
This baby isn’t coming,
It’s clearly staying put,
Sometimes quite uncomfortable,
That’s probably a foot.
Watching films and cooking,
Are passing time for me,
Every other minute,
The missus needs a pee.
Maybe when the sun goes down,
Something will kick off,
At least there’s Ant and Dec tonight,
They [...]

5 in the morning…
March 7, 2008

5 in the morning is too bloody early,
My body is awake but my brain’s all surly,
Waiting for the baby to come is getting boring,
But adrenaline pumping gets me up every morning.
We’re heading into 5 days over today,
So back to work again until the phone call to say,
“Baby’s coming, baby’s coming, get back on your bike”,
“But [...]
