The fascinating thing about babies who doze,
Is that they only know how to breath through the nose,
So when you add bogies into the mix,
The little one gets in an almightly fix.
He wants to sleep, he’s so very tired,
But the snot attacks and his breathing gets mired,
You can hear it coming like the mucus train,
Louder and nearer clogging up his brain.
What can we do, how do we help?
Maybe it’s cold? “warm house” – note to self,
They say humid air could give him liquidity,
Take some of those bogies and remove the rigidity.
There is one more thing that we’ve been advised,
A token of love that shoots for the skies,
You give him assistance the best way you know how,
Put your mouth on his nose and suck the buggers out!
I never heard about the last one, did you try it?
I’ve got to be honest, I did. Once you’re over the fear that you’re going to pull his brains out through his nose, and you remember to keep your teeth clamped shut, it works pretty well!
